- A direct line of sight is required – you must be able to see the “eye” on the shade or blind.
- Point and shoot – just like your TV remote
- Pros: simple to use, less expensive, control multiple windows with same remote
- Cons: strong sunlight or fluorescent lighting can diminish range and operability and line of sight requirement may limit decorative accents such as top treatments, cornices, etc.. Extension “eyes” are available. Shades with receiving eyes located closely together may not be able to operate individually as the infrared “ray” may spread to the point where both shades are “triggered” at the same time.
